penguin – science fiction cover part 2

︎Artist, Illustration, Penguin, Book Covers
︎ Leif Podhajsky

In the part two of our look at Penguin science fiction covers, we move into the 1970's. This period saw some of the most iconic and celebrated artwork from the publisher yet.k.

At the helm for most of this time was artist and creative director David Pelham. You probably know him best for his iconic 'A Clockwork Orange' cog artwork, but he created a staggering amount of beautiful paintings in an array of different styles, for titles by J. G. Ballard and many more.
