"shot in an otherworldly way with models on top of impressive and monumental buildings or heroically posed within epic natural wonders. "

I have always admired Thierry Mugler as a fashion visionary, particularly his robot woman which joined the dots between Metropolis and Sorayama and his iconic ‘handlebar’ look seen in George Michael’s 'Too Funky’ video and my initial idea was to post a story about this work. However, Mugler had another equally captivating string to his bow - as a photographer. This is less known so I thought it would make a more interesting choice.

I discovered this work through a book bought as a present from my wife, Jaja. Published in 1988, 'Thierry Mugler Photographer' is packed with an endless amount of astounding images, all shot in an otherworldly way with models on top of impressive and monumental buildings or heroically posed within epic natural wonders. Breathtaking.
